Holy Cream in Hell’s Kitchen

In Food on August 8, 2011 at 10:55 am

Ok, why did I just find out about this place?!The idea of making your own sweet ice cream donut sandwich is brilliant. I wish I would have thought of it. The donuts don’t look fancy but they taste amazing if you enjoy cake donuts and an endless amount of toppings. They have a lot of ice cream (even some fat free and sugar free stuff) and frozen yogurt flavors, a full line up of plain donuts waiting to be dressed, and more toppings than you can think of.  There’s even a quirky instruction manual painted on the wall for those who are absolutely clueless about this ice cream donut sandwich concoction. And if you are still confused, just ask the staff, they are quirky but helpful too.

An instruction manual for the clueless (like me).

This place makes all your sweet dreams come true. Start with a donut, select the icing, pick a topping, choose what ice cream to fill it with, and devour. The toppings include M&Ms, cookie crumbles, gummy bears, coco puffs, froot loops, etc. I can keep going but you get the point.

Gummy bears...

M & M's...

The donut ice cream sandwich is huge and will probably, actually no, definitely feed two people. If you want to attempt to eat it on your own, good luck. Check out this donut fusion:  Homemade donut + your choice of glaze (chocolate) + your choice of topping (Coco Puffs, Reese’s and nuts) + 2 scoops of delicious ice cream (peanut butter and chocolate) = sugar coma.

donut + ice cream + toppings = heaven on earth

Forget about your typical ice cream sandwich when you can get a kinky twist to it. If you are in hell’s kitchen you have to check out Holy Cream just to see the spectacle in person. Gluttons be ready!
