Beer, Wine, and Cupcakes?

Go to Sweet Revenge for happy hour.

Beer, wine, and cupcakes… what a concept at this West Village dessert destination called Sweet Revenge. Although this place is tiny, it has a lot of charm. I went with a friend right after dinner and we decided to split a cupcake. All the cupcakes in the display case looked heavenly, but we took the waitresses advice and ordered the Crimson and Cream cupcake paired with the Raspberry Bellini. Okay so I wouldn’t say it was the best cupcake I have ever had, but it was damn near close.

The Crimson and Cream is a version of the red velvet cupcake. The cake itself was very dense and had pieces of raspberry baked within. There was also an infusion of  raspberry jam glazed on top of the cream cheese icing which made for a sinfully delicious treat.

And to top if off you can pair your cupcake with beer or wine. We had the raspberry Bellini, which was paired with our Crimson and Cream cupcake. It was an absolute superb combination.

This is a great place if you like cupcakes and alcohol. The cupcakes are moist and delectable and you will savor every bite. The pairings are a must. This place has limited seating but it is very quaint and the perfect spot for a date. This place doesn’t completely live up to some of the amazing cupcake spots in Manhattan but it’s worth a try for such a unique experience.
